First released on the PC platform in 1998, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is a first-person, squad-based shooter inspired by the Tom Clancy novel. In the game, you'll take control of one operative in an eight-man squad made up of elite special force members from countries around the world. This elite counter-terrorist ops team, known as Rainbow Six, is kept secret through the skilled use of propaganda and government cover-ups. Before each of the 16 unique missions in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, you'll equip your forces with realistic weaponry used to fight terrorism, including the Heckler & Koch MP-5 sub-machine gun, the M-16 for jungle combat, the Benelli 12-Gauge tactical shotgun, and a selection of explosive devices like frag grenades and flash-bangs. Since each available team member offers a wide range of skills, players must carefully select the right team for the mission. The Dreamcast version of the game supports both the Jump Pack accessory for vibration feedback and the VMU peripheral to save mission progress. Unlike the other versions, Rainbow Six for the Dreamcast is one-player only.
