With the advent of hostiles in Britain's American colonies, an elite detachment form the foot guards was formed. A brigade of Guards was chosen from the three regiments of Foot Guards, destined for service in the war upon the colonists. The 1st and 2nd Foot Guards in America were formed of detachments sent from Britain rather than a whole regiment deployment, so the Colours remained behind. We have included flags for those who wish to add flair to their regiments rather than follow their historical appearance on the battlefield. These miniatures can also be painted to represent regular British infantry regiments in the later stages of the war in battles such as Monmouth Courthouse.
