In Warren Worthington's apartment, a poker game is taking place among the X-Men, including Cannonball, Beast, Storm, Gambit, Iceman, and The Thing from the Fantastic Four. Beast is upset with Cannonball for inadvertently revealing his poker hand, and Cannonball's enthusiasm annoys him. The Thing leaves the game, and the players discuss how to deal with Cannonball's repeated blunders. But a bit later its is revealed that Sam has been fooling the all along as he quite good at playing poker. Meanwhile, in a cafe Bishop confides in Cyclops and Jean Grey about his recurring nightmares and his past in a dystopian future. He sees himself being hunted, but he cannot recall the face of his pursuer. Jean and Scott offer support and suggest that talking about his experiences might help him remember more. At the same time, in a hidden lair, Dark Beast and Sugar Man discuss Bishop's presence as a chronal anomaly and the potential threat he poses to exposing them. They believe that Bishop has information that could interest Mister Sinister, and they must decide who will eliminate Bishop before Sinister can exploit that knowledge. Back at the apartment, a poker game between Cannonball and Gambit goes awry when Remy accidentally triggers an explosion with his mutant powers. Sam accuses Gambit of cheating. Storm discovers that Gambit's hand was a royal flush, and she questions why he didn't want to win.
