Cyberpunk and Ted Crisis!
Ahoy-Hoy Friends!
Sorry about all the smoke and fires, we may have inadvertently awakened the Dark Lord Sauron! Never fear friends, you can join the Fellowship on their quest to destroy the One Ring by purchasing an Eye Of Sauron Bathbomb for just $10! But wait there's more! Every bathbomb comes with the One Ring hidden inside, just don't wear it in the tub!
"Bill & Ted Are Doomed" Dark Horse: This comic book contains the beginning of a most enjoyable story, dudes and dude-ettes! The tone and dialogue are spot on, the lettering adds character, the return of a dearly departed fan favorite side character, and a new most excellent time device! Maybe I'm just nostalgic having grown up on the films, but this truly is a most excellent chapter in the story of Wyld Stallyns. 8 Little Turntables out of 10
"Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team" Dark Horse: Regardless of how closely this ties into the upcoming video game, it is a fantastic piece of Cyberpunk story telling witha slice of PTSD on the side. The art invokes every classic trope of the Cyberpunk aesthetic. The future drips with dirty neon lights selling every vice imaginable to overcrowded streets. Cullen Bunn's writing delivers a tight narrative following a lone survivor struggling to keep it together after a few too many fire fights went south. Also the cliffhanger is absolutely diabolical. 8 mouths out of 10
Honorable Mention
"Dark Nights: Death Metal: Trinity Crisis" DC: This is tie-in is 100% worth picking up. So much happens as DC's Trinity starts their assault on [Redacted] that I'm surprised it isn't issue #4 of the main series.
