About the Akira Failing in Love Manga Volume 5

A chaotic comedy of high school courtship between an awkward girl and a dorky boy too dense to realize they are already in love with each other.

Akira returns to the countryside for high school with a foolproof scheme to win the heart of her childhood crush, Hajime. Too bad they’re both fools in love!

Hajime has to attend summer school, but to his surprise and delight, Akira is the teacher! Together, they try to help a third student, Hinako, who can’t handle praise without being reduced to quivering jelly. Next, it’s time for hijinks at the school cultural festival! Which of the two would-be lovers looks cuter in their costume? Then, when Hajime falls ill, Akira must screw up the courage to visit him at his home. How can she comfort him…? Manga creator Shinta Harekawa grew up in Nigata Prefecture, Japan. The first manga she read, Rumiko Takahashi’s Ranma ½, inspired her to begin drawing and led her to the discovery of Shonen Sunday magazine, where her series Akira Failing in Love now runs. Her series Senpai, This Can’t Be Love was adapted into a live-action series in 2022 in Japan, and her series Three Exorcism Siblings ran from 2021 to 2023 in Coamix’s Web Comic Zenon.
