Safe Shopping with Captain Blue Hen Comics 2021
 
Captain Blue Hen is still open for customers! In order to stay open we must follow state and local guidelines which are necessarily tightening up a bit. That means we will be limited to five (5) customers in the store at a time. It also means that we must continue to operate as safely as possible. The good news is that Captain Blue Hen has stayed ahead of the safe-shopping curve and has remained ever vigilant!
 
Your safety is our top priority. CBH Staff has been consistently getting tested once a week. We have plexi-glass shields at the counters. Staff continue to keep our hands sanitized. We will clean and disinfect shared surfaces before open, after close, and throughout the day. Plus, we have our CBH Shopping Rules:
 
WEAR MASKS
Everyone who enters the store must wear a mask for the entire time. A mask is a covering for one’s face that fully covers the nostrils and mouth. Employees and Customers must wear a mask at all times.
 
STAY SANITIZED
Sanitize your hands upon entering the store. We have hand sanitizer right inside the door and we ask you to use it before you will be allowed to shop. To minimize possible transfer from inanimate objects, we ask that you keep extraneous items, especially phones and keys in your pockets.
 
KEEP SIX FEET of DISTANCE
Please keep at least six feet away from anyone else in the store when shopping and standing at the counter. We have reminders on the floor for you.
 
LIMITING NUMBER of SHOPPERS
As we said, Delaware guidelines ask us to limit customers in the store at one time. We may ask you to wait in your vehicle/outside until a customer leaves or we may have to limit your time in the store. You may see the SIGN (above) on the door to let you know we are “full” for the moment.
 
ADDRESSING YOUR CONCERNS
What are less-busy days?
Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays are not as busy and you may not have to wait outside and fewer customers will be in and out of the store.
 
Is there Curbside Pick-Up?
We continue to have curbside pick-up if you do not want to shop inside. You can pre-shop and pre-pay on ComicHub or captainbluehen.com OR we now have the option to PAY OUTSIDE with our new Square register we can ring you up and charge your card at your vehicle.
 
Is there Shipping available?
We continue to have a shipping option. You can shop and pay on ComicHub or captainbluehen.com or you can email or call to request a Square invoice for your items and shipping fee.
 
Is there Appointment shopping?
We have times that we can be in the store when you can solo shop. Make an appointment for before we open or for a day when we have no regular hours by calling or emailing to set up at least 24 hours ahead (appointment availability is fluid).
 
We want you to get your comics! We want you to feel safe! We want to stay open! We can do this together! We will all follow the rules and we will be able to see each other, get our comics, and have fun at Captain Blue Hen Comics. We appreciate your help with this. Thank you very much!
