Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Here I am, well into my 8th decade on this pile of rocks, and I just learned something new from my two-year-old grand-daughter the other day! I never knew that dogs hated oranges!! But there it was, a whole episode of Puppy Dog Pals devoted to it. Yep, Bingo and Rolly and all of their pals were having to cope with the obnoxious fumes in order to save the mission. And… get this, Huey Lewis is Bulworth! Who knew?
Turns out, a quick check on this new thinking machine device and I discovered it’s true! You can even use oranges to dissuade dogs from chewing on furniture. Where was this info when our huskies and German shepherd were teething?
What I DO know is that things are starting to return to normal and we’re hosting our Memorial Day Flea Market and Collectibles Show this Monday, the 31st. Still, playing it safe, we could have sold out the spots a second time with potential vendors, new and old, asking to set-up. However, even though outside, we are maintaining a space between vendors to help with social distancing.
There are bound to be bargains to be had. Personally, I will be offering ALL of my individual comics and sets/runs at 50% Off the marked price (many of which are already deep-discounted). The inventory is quite low as I have moved most on eBay during this pandemic. Buy massive quantities and we can talk about an even better deal! Numismatists, I’ll have binders and albums of Indian Head Cents and Lincoln Cents for sale – also priced below guide. Any Despicable Me fans out there? Look for blind bags of Minions. Super-hero plushes! Elvis albums! A huge bin of Lego parts and pieces! Even a vintage “Flying Turtle”! Anything I bring along is open to reasonable offers, as my long, self-designated goal of retiring by this Constitution Day is around the corner.
A 4th of July Flea Market, with a few more spots being made available, is in the works and once again, we will open it up to store members first. That deadline is June 14th. After that we will contact non-members who have already expressed interest. So, members, take advantage of this perk, as the 4th is destined to be a sell-out, also.
While I have this soapbox, allow me to request that you try and persuade your hesitant, non-vaccinated friends to get onboard so we can reach “herd immunity” and restore things to a pre-pandemic mode!!
