About Us - Collected Comics & Games: Fort Worth
Collected Comics & Games (Global Pop Culture Headquarters LLC) opened its first store on March 1st of 2013 in Fort Worth TX under the name “Collected: TCU”. The TCU store was located on historic Bluebonnett Circle in Fort Worth TX for four years. In 2017 this location was moved to it's current 7000 sq ft location at 3016 Alta Mere Dr. and renamed Collected "Fort Worth."
On September 1st 2013, Global Pop Culture Headquarters LLC purchased the Lone Star Comics Hurst & Plano TX location from owners Buddy and Judy Saunders who started the Lone Star Comics chain in 1977 when they opened their first retail store in Arlington, Texas. More Lone Star Comics locations followed over the years including Fort Worth, Dallas, Hurst, Plano, and many others. The Hurst & Plano TX location were sold on September 1st, 2013 to Global Pop Culture Headquarters LLC and re-opened under the name Collected: Hurst and Collected: Plano
With Collected being the newest pop culture store chain in the DFW area owners Brent E. Erwin (former owner of Paper Heroes & Heroes Outpost) & Ron Killingsworth (former owner of the HEROES comic store chain) are happy to be back in retail and serving all our friends both old and new in the Metroplex.
Collected opened it’s fourth location in Keller, TX on Free Comics Book Day May 3rd, 2014 with plans to open more locations in the Metroplex.Collected has operated location in Fort Worth. Keller, Hurst, Plano, Richardson, & Burleson.
Currently Collected operates 2 locations. The Fort Worth Collected which is managed by Ron Killingsworth (formally of HEROES) and the Keller store is managed by Brent E. Erwin (formalli of Four Color Comics, Paper Heroes) Drop by and see us.
The Owners:
Brent Erwin:
Brent Erwin opened his first store Paper Heroes in Waco, Texas in 1990. Eventually moving to New Jersey he opened two new stores “Heroes Outpost” located in North Plainflied & Bridgewater Township. Brent has worked for Acclaim Comics, Wizard Entertainment, & Spacedog Productions befor founding his publishing company Ape Entertainemt which he ran for 10 years. Brent teturned home to Texas with plans to open and purchase additional stores and grow a retail comic chain.
Ron Killingsworth:
Killingsworth is a Fort Worth institution, opening his first store, Heroes, in 1984 and expanding it to a three-store chain before closing down in 1996
