About Us - Oiltown Comics

Oiltown Comics opened in Corsicana, Texas in October 2016.   It is located in what many locals remember as the Thurston Auto Parts building.   The building was constructed in 1924, originally a grocery store.   Mr. Thurston purchase the property in the 1940's, expanded the building and operated as an Auto Parts retail store for over 60 years, first by the senior Mr. Thurston and later by his son who grew up in the family business.   

The name for Oiltown Comics is a tribute to the auto business operated here as well as the history of the town of Corsicana, site of the first commercial oil well.

Nic Davidson is the owner and operator, having moved back to Corsicana after completing his Bachelor's Degree in Gaming Art Design in Florida and working as a Stereo Artist for a 3D movie conversion studio in San Diego, California.   Having a lifetime passion for Comic Books, their characters and their art design,  Nic saw an opportunity to bring a retail environment to Navarro County and the surrounding communities.   (See movies Nic worked on at imdb.com)
