Spider-Man Far From Home is sitting at 90% Fresh on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes.
And most comic book fans agree that it's awesome!
But it's not the movie itself that has most fans talking, it's the after-credits scenes.
Spoilers ahead.
From the moment that the Skrulls were introduced in Captain Marvel, comic book fans have been predicting that this story could leap to the big screen. And now that Nick Fury and Maria Hill have been revealed to be Skrulls, the likelihood of that happening has probably increased.
The story is Secret Invasion by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Yu.
In the comics, the Skrulls have secretly infiltrated every superhero team in the Marvel Universe laying the groundwork for a planet-wide takeover. The tagline for the series was "Who Can You Trust?" and this could make for an awesome movie! Of course, the Skrulls in the Marvel Cinematic Universe appear to be good guys. But who knows?
If you want to go deeper into Marvel comics lore and see more of Nick Fury hanging out in space, then pick up Original Sin. Written by Jason Aaron with art by Mike Deodato.
Original Sin is billed as "The greatest murder mystery in Marvel history!" All of Marvel's heavy hitters are part of the story, and this could be the endgame for Fury's character in the movies, allowing Samuel L. Jackson to hang up his eye patch for good.
Finally, if you loved the character of Mysterio, then you'll want to read Daredevil: Guardian Devil by Kevin Smith (yes, that Kevin Smith) with art by Joe Quesada.
This story resurrected Daredevil comic books and was the beginning of a multi-year run where DD was consistently at the top of the sales charts. So if you're a fan of the Netflix series, this is one for you, too. It's also one of the best Mysterio stories ever! You thought what he did to Spider-Man in Far From Home was messed up? Wait until you read Guardian Devil.
Just because the credits have rolled on the latest Marvel movie doesn't mean that the story has ended. You'll find these three recommendations, along with much more to satisfy your Marvel thirst at your local comic shop.
